The Eki-Naryn Valley is home to a small village of the same name located about forty kilometers from Naryn. It's an ideal base for discovering the region's magnificent landscapes, nestled in the mountains where you can undertake hiking and horseback treks.

Discovering the Valley

The valley occupies a secluded corner of paradise, and those seeking calm and serenity will find the place utterly captivating.

The road carries you through colorful meadows and splendid barley fields. Following the Naryn River upstream, beyond the Naryn Nature Reserve and the dusty hamlet of Tash Bashat, you'll arrive at this magnificent valley suspended on a cliff, overlooking an elusive wild landscape.

The charming small village of Eki-Naryn, deeply representative of Kyrgyzstan, will enchant you without fail. You'll inevitably encounter children playing outside, while women attend to daily household tasks and men tend to livestock herds. Life here is refreshingly simple. Some locals occasionally invite visitors to share tea around a table laden with sweets and condiments. It's the perfect opportunity to learn more about local life and the villagers' way of living. Life here is peaceful, undisturbed by the outside world.

The red rocks of the mountains give way to a verdant valley where magnificent wildflowers sway. Near the Naryn River, scattered pastures and forests reveal herds of horses grazing on fresh grass. The different vistas that unfold around each hillside are utterly unique and bound to impress you.

Eki-Naryn has a humid climate with no dry season. Its average annual temperature is 3.7°C, and it receives an average annual precipitation of 345.3mm. The best time to visit the valley is between July and August.

Eki-Naryn is easily accessible from Naryn. The journey takes approximately one hour by taxi.
