In total, 30 medals will be awarded across men's and women's freestyle wrestling and Greco-Roman wrestling.

The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Sapar Isakov, addressed the participants of the Asia Wrestling Championship for Greco-Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling, and women's wrestling: "Brilliant and determined wrestlers have gathered here to showcase their skills. I hope that the spirit of the championship, the essence of wrestling, will remain with each of you forever. I wish all athletes to reach new heights, and spectators to take away bright and unforgettable memories. According to him, over 700 athletes from 20 countries are participating in the competition. This tournament is another step toward promoting wrestling in the Kyrgyz Republic, which already recognizes this activity as a national sport. Kyrgyz wrestlers regularly make their mark not only in Asia, but also at world championships and the Olympic Games.

The Greco-Roman Wrestling Federation of Kyrgyzstan is delighted to host this championship. "After lengthy and productive negotiations, we are proud to announce that we have succeeded. We are ready to host the 2018 Asia Championship in Kyrgyzstan at the highest level," it stated.
